This is a sick, twisted man who used the I.R.S. to attack his "enemies."



Meeting privately with the head of the I.R.S. 157 times- goes well beyond that point with which there is some reasonable shadow of a doubt.
Of course the man himself never offers an explanation- that would be too easy. He pleads the fifth every time a scandal breaks. "I heard it on the news like everyone else." Remember that grand piece of bullshit? This man who met with the I.R.S. 157 times.
Obama was obsessed with punishing his enemies- that is clear. He should be held accountable for this abuse of power... but my expectations are quite low coming from this government that is as morally bankrupt as it's leader is.

The curious case of former IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman's 157 meetings at the White House is now more curious with the revelation that he attended meetings with Stephanie Cutter, Deputy Campaign Manager for President Obama's 2012 reelection campaign. While she technically served a stint as a White House advisor to the President, her role has always been that of an aggressive political operator. That their meetings coincided with the IRS targeting of conservative and Tea Party organizations raises many questions.

Cutter may have had an official White House title, but she has always been a campaign operative. In 2010, she was named an Assistant to the President, charged with communications and outreach for ObamaCare. Presumably, it is in this role that she was in meetings with Shulman. This itself is odd, because as the IRS is tasked with implementing large swathes of ObamaCare, HHS is responsible for the public outreach and oversight of the public exchanges at the heart of the law.
Cutter has not revealed the details of the meetings she attended with Shulman. We don't know the exact dates they met, except that they must have coincided with the IRS targeting of conservative groups. We do know that the targeting began around the time that ObamaCare was enacted.
It is hard to imagine a meeting agenda that would include both the supposedly non-partisan IRS Commissioner Shulman and the hyper-partisan Cutter. The IRS is supposed to develop technocratic rules to implement ObamaCare. Communications and outreach ought not be part of their mission. Could it be that part of the White House's outreach plan on ObamaCare was to silence opponents?
Cutter should be called to testify under oath before the House Oversight Committee to explain the details of these meetings. Her portfolio at the time, communications and outreach, imply a political component that would not ordinarily be tasked to the IRS Commissioner. What, exactly, were the nature of these meetings?

Scandal: The president's deputy campaign manager attended the "nonpolitical" ObamaCare implementation meetings with the former IRS commissioner at the White House. She wasn't there to discuss the Easter Egg Roll.
A clue as to whether the targeting by the IRS of Tea Party and other conservative groups was discussed at the 157 meetings that former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman had at the White House may be found in remarks by Stephanie Cutter, deputy manager for President Obama's 2012 reelection campaign, in a recent appearance on Jake Tapper's show "The Lead" on CNN.
As reported by Gateway Pundit, Cutter attempted to dismiss charges they were political meetings but admitted she had attended meetings with Shulman at the White House. "I was in them with him," Cutter said. "So there was nothing nefarious going on."
Well, if they were not political meetings, why was she there at all? Was she there to offer her health care or tax code expertise?
Cutter became Obama's deputy campaign manager in September 2011. Shulman, a Democratic donor, was IRS commissioner from March 24, 2008, to November 9, 2012. Cutter was an Obama attack dog during the 2012 campaign.
When she appeared on CBS' "Face the Nation" to defend the president's new campaign slogan "Romnesia," she went on to say that Republican nominee Mitt Romney was "severely conservative" and had run as the "ideal" Tea Party candidate.
She said this as she was sitting in meetings with the head of an IRS that was charged with implementation of ObamaCare as it was targeting groups that were created to oppose ObamaCare.
Though she denies it, Cutter was also deeply involved in the ads run by the pro-Obama super-PAC Priorities USA in which steelworker Joe Soptic recounted how his wife died of cancer after he lost his health insurance when his plant was shuttered after a takeover by Bain Capital and other companies working with Romney's private equity firm.
Cutter appeared on CNN in August 2012 to say, among other things, that "I don't know the facts" about the Soptic case, something she had to say since coordination between political campaigns and such issue-oriented groups is illegal. She lied.
In May 2012, Cutter herself hosted a conference call in which Soptic detailed his case to reporters.
During the call, as he did in the ad, Soptic explained how his wife fell ill after he lost his job, and how he lost his health insurance. The call took place as Soptic began appearing in Obama campaign ads and was profiled on the Obama campaign website.
Cutter was not only on the call, she also introduced Soptic and wrapped up his testimony. And as to any campaign coordination, Rush Limbaugh and others have noted that Soptic is apparently wearing the same shirt for campaign ads of both the Priorities USA and Obama For America, Obama's 2012 campaign organization, that were allegedly taped months apart.
Priorities USA is self-described as a social welfare 501(c)4 and is not required to disclose individuals, corporations or union organizations that have donated in an effort to affect the 2012 election.
It's no different from Crossroads GPS, the Karl Rove-affiliated group that Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin asked Shulman in a letter to investigate. Yet it escaped the "special scrutiny" the IRS reserved for targeted Tea Party groups.
Cutter should be called to testify under oath before the House Oversight Committee to explain why a key Obama campaign operative was in on meetings to discuss ObamaCare implementation with an IRS official whose agency was targeting groups opposed to it.

While it grapples with the fallout from the tea party targeting scandal, it’s facing new charges of wasteful spending.

A watchdog report released Tuesday includes potentially embarrassing examples of spending at conferences, including $17,000 paid to a keynote speaker whose specialty was painting unique pictures. He produced images of Michael Jordan, Bono, Albert Einstein and Abraham Lincoln at the IRS event.
Agency employees received hotel upgrades and a deputy commissioner spent five nights in a two-bedroom presidential suite at the Anaheim, Calif., Hilton.
And, of course, the IRS spent about $50,000 producing parodies of “Star Trek.”
In total, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration found that the IRS spent about $49 million on conferences between 2010 and 2012.
It’s a dollar figure that has shocked many in Washington.
“Taxpayer money meant to pay for a core agency mission, the hiring of more enforcement personnel, was instead spent on a lavish party,” House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said in a statement.
Issa has raised stinks before about agency spending on conferences, but the IRS example seems to eclipse other examples. The inspector general’s report indicates that the seven conferences the IRS held in 2010 each cost more than the $822,000 General Services Administration retreat in Las Vegas that set off a firestorm in Congress last year.
The California Republican on Thursday is holding a committee hearing on the report, bringing in Faris Fink, the commissioner of the small business and self-employed division, which hosted a 2010 conference in Anaheim, which is the focus of Tuesday’s report. Fink was a deputy commissioner at the time of the conference and was the official who stayed in a presidential suite.
TIGTA said it started its investigation into this particular event after receiving a tip about excessive spending.
The IRS, which knew the report would be released Tuesday, has been on the defense for the past few days, pointing to the vast decline in conference costs over the past two years.
“The number of larger conferences — defined as those with 50 or more participants — went down dramatically between FY 2010 and 2012,” an IRS spokesman said in a statement. “Costs for these meetings fell from $37.6 million in [fiscal] 2010 to $6.2 million in [fiscal] 2011 and under $4.9 million in [fiscal] 2012.”
But that’s unlikely to stop lawmakers from lashing out at Fink on Thursday.
The Anaheim conference brought 2,609 executives and managers in the IRS’s small business and self-employed division to California. TIGTA was unable to verify the total cost of the conference because IRS procedures at the time of the conference didn’t require management to track and report conference costs.
One of the most controversial aspects of the event — aside from the cost — is that the conference was paid for, in part, by about $3.2 million in leftover tax enforcement funds. That’s sure to anger lawmakers who have spent years listening to the IRS beg for money, arguing that tax fraud is rampant and could be curbed by providing more resources to the agency.

In an April letter to TIGTA, the IRS said the conference, called Leading Into the Future, was scheduled because 30 percent of the small business division’s managers were new or had just been promoted. The IRS said the conference also focused on safety and security training following a suicide attack on an IRS facility in Texas.
The conference included 15 outside speakers who were paid about $135,350, including the keynote speaker who was paid for his artistic abilities.

This is also where the much-maligned “Star Trek” parody and Cupid Shuffle dance videos starring IRS employees — including Fink as Spock — debuted. Video production costs totaled more than $50,000.
Employees were also given trinkets to take home, including souvenir bags valued at $15,000, $6,000 worth of lanyards, $1,500 worth of travel mugs and clocks. In total, the IRS spent $64,000 on gifts.
The IRS agreed with all TIGTA recommendations, including that IRS track and verify conference costs, use in-house employees to set up conferences when possible and outline when videos actually enhance learning.
TIGTA says Congress and the White House have taken numerous steps to cut waste over the past two years. Obama signed an executive order in November 2011, directing agencies to try to host conferences in government spaces to curb costs, and the Office of Management and Budget in spring 2012 prohibited agencies from spending more than $500,000 on a single conference, requiring them to put the total costs on their websites if it exceeded $100,000.
Treasury has limited the use of outside event planners, and the IRS also has taken steps to reduce travel and conference costs.

As we all know, Barack Hussein Obama parades around as a self-proclaimed champion of “women’s rights.” In truth, he advocates the most dangerous and destructive measures a woman can face through two fronts: promoting abortion and radical Islam, both of which are destructive to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Obama will be touring the United States for a Muslim Outreach initiative. He will be asking them how the government can better serve them. His Department of in-Justice has also issued warnings against those who use social media to speak against Muslims, threatening that it violates their civil rights.
Obama and his criminal syndicates have also advocated for the murder of children in the womb 241 times since he took office. This “grown-up fetus” even went so far as to block the protection of a child born alive during an abortion to be sure the child is snuffed out. He has declared a war on women by attempting to force all Americans to fund Planned Parenthood. Obama also wants to force the church in America to supply birth control for women as well, because he wants to promote the church’s doctrine of a moral, healthy lifestyle for women … right?
Decades of medical evidence have revealed that abortion carries significant psychological risks; including increased risks of depression, anxiety and suicide. Abortion is proven to harm the soul of a woman while killing the life of an innocent child (Proverbs 6:17).
That, my friends, is a war on women!
Obama pretends to care about women and children, but the facts show the complete opposite. Over 4 million babies have been slaughtered in the womb during Obama’s presidency.
Now let’s go back to radical Islam.
Another ironic twist is that while Obama and his minions claim to be concerned that women have equal rights, no other president has praised radical Islam (which is renown for persecuting women in horrible degrees) more than Barack Hussein Obama. From the moment he took office, he has used his bully pulpit to pander to the radical Islamic community, as mentioned above (Leviticus 26:15-17).
Radical Islam is known for the dreadful practice of “honor killings,” in which girls who lose their virginity or become too “Westernized” are killed by their own families. A woman is continually subject to abuse, rape and violence. If they flee from a marriage arranged by the family, they will be tracked down and killed – stabbed, shot, drenched in petrol and set alight, drowned, run over or poisoned.
Coming from a president who pledges American taxpayers’ money to fund the murder of babies and to terrorist organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood (whose goal is to implement Shariah law), who is really waging a war on women?

Virginia Lt. Gov. Candidate E.W. Jackson: Gays Are "Ikky"

That's an actual tweet from the Rev. E.W. Jackson, the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Virginia.
Jackson, a social-conservative activist with no record of electoral success, was nominated on the first ballot at the state GOP's convention on Saturday and almost immediately triggered an acute case of heartburn among the party's establishment due to his far-right views on gay rights and abortion. (Among other things, he favors the reinstatement of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and said the Democratic party's platform was in line with the Antichrist.) Jackson is, as Daily Kos Elections' David Nir puts it, "an oppo researcher's mescaline-fueled fantasy bender riding on pegasus-back."
And we're only starting to scratch the surface. A quick survey of Jackson's now dormant Twitter feed, @ewjsr (he now tweets at @Jackson4VA) shows that he is been remarkably consistent in his attacks on the gays, Muslims, and communists he believes are destroying the country from within.
"The 'homosexual religion' is the most virulent anti-Christian bigotry & hatred I've ever seen," he tweeted in October of 2009. "They have threatened me, but not vice versa."
That was around the same time he concluded that "[t]he homosexual movement is a cancer attacking vital organs of faith, family & military - repositories of traditional values." After President Obama addressed the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBT rights group, Jackson groveled that the organization wanted to "homosexualize the country." After Family Research Council president Tony Perkins was disinvited from an event at Andrews Air Force Base, Jackson called the Obama administration "the Gestapo." When Rush Limbaugh invited Elton John to perform at his wedding, Jackson called it "utterly disappointing." He referred to Democrats as "Demoncrats."
Elsewhere, Jackson describes President Obama as the "first homosexual President," and endorses an argument by Frank Gaffney that Obama is also the "First Muslim President."
Jackson, a Harvard Law School graduate and former student at Harvard Divinity School, recognized the contradiction in these statements, and openly struggled with it: "It will be interesting to see how Obama reconciles Islamicizing America with homosexualizing America,"he tweeted. "Babylon v Sodom & Gomorrah." (The Baylonians weren't Muslim, but that's hardly the point.) Jackson considered it "tragic" that American foreign policy was, in his view, now "pro-Islam."
He was also bothered by the presence of practicing Muslims in the administration:
Jackson's fear of Muslims was such that after an Air France flight crashed into the Atlantic Ocean and a gunman opened fire at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC, in 2009, he immediately alleged—citing absolutely nothing—that both events had been acts of Islamic terrorism. (The Holocaust Museum gunman was a white supremacist, and the Air France crash was ruled an accident). Responding to a report that Obama was hoping to use his space agency as a way of reaching out to to the Muslim world, he was indignant: "Obama's new mission for Nasa, not to explore space, but expand Islam! Huh?"
Given the last few days, this last tweet seems somewhat fitting. It's from 2010, and it's a stirring defense of another conservative activist whose unlikely nomination cost Republicans a once winnable race:

Viruses can be turned into easily concealed weapons with high epidemic powers that could contaminate food, water and animals, Iran has warned.
Gen. Gholamreza Jalali, head of Iran’s Passive Defense Organization, in a recent event discussing defensive and offensive measures for cyber-attacks and viruses, talked about the strategic importance of using viruses as weapons to contaminate an environment, according to AsrIran, a media outlet of the Islamic Republic.
“Biological viruses are extremely clever and have the capability to distinguish their environment. These viruses can only be recognized in labs,” he said, stressing that these agents are easily hidden in the environment and can cause widespread epidemics.
Jalali said that viruses, parasites, botanical poisons and animal poisons are elements that can be used in biological warfare.
“The environmental threats include humans, domesticated animals, poultry, environment, natural resources, food industry and drinking water,” he said, identifying seven ways a biological agent could strike.
The United Nations’ Biological Weapons Convention has banned the development, production and stockpiling of these threats since 1975. But based on orders from Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country has made great progress in the field and currently several labs in Iran are working independently of each other in developing the biological elements, although the general said the effort is defensive.
WND reported exclusively in December and January that, according to a source in the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence unit with knowledge of Iran’s microbial research and development, Iranian scientists, with Russian and North Korean help, currently possess eight extremely dangerous microbial agents that, if unleashed, could kill millions of people.
The eight agents are anthrax, encephalitis (the blueprint of this virus, Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis, was provided by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in an agreement two years ago with the Islamic regime), yellow rain (developed with the help of North Korea), SARS, Ebola, cholera, smallpox and plague.
Iran, with North Korea’s help, has genetically altered the smallpox virus, which make current vaccinations useless against the new strain. And research at two facilities that act as drug companies but are fronts for the deadly research shows insects can be used as the vector to carry plague, infamous as the “Black Death,” according to WND’s sources.
A new SARS-like virus has been found in humans that could be “a threat to the entire world,” Dr. Margaret Chan, the director-general of the U.N. World Health Organization, told CNN recently.
“We do not know where the virus hides in nature,” she said. “We do not know how people are getting infected. Until we answer these questions, we are empty-handed when it comes to prevention. These are alarm bells. And we must respond.”
In another Iranian warning, Brig. Gen. Mohammadreza Naghdi, the head of the Basij paramilitary forces, said the regime is involved in a war that expands on five fronts with America, according to the Islamic regime’s media outlet Fars News Agency.
Fars reported Sunday that in a speech to Basij forces in Khorasan Province, Naghdi said, “We are at war with America in the political front, cultural, economics, science and technology.”
Claiming that America’s economy is disintegrating, he said, “America’s military budget has been reduced and they don’t have the means for battle.”
Naghdi said Western culture is on the verge of destruction and claimed, “All Western analysts are sure that America will fall.”
Naghdi told the forces that “an epic is made at the height of the war” and that it has two forces: “On one side are the people who make this epic, and on the other side are the oppressors with the leadership of America.”
In another interview, Naghdi set three conditions for America for any chance of betterment in relations with the Islamic regime: remove all of its bases from the region, remove its support of the “Zionist regime” (Israel) and ask for forgiveness for all of “its crimes against humanity.”

Family of dying girl seeks direct donor for lung transplant

Family members of a 10-year-old Pennsylvania girl in desperate need of a lung transplant said Sunday that they are devastated that the nation’s top health official did not intervene with an immediate policy change that could save the dying child’s life.
In response, the parents of Sarah Murnaghan, who has end-stage cystic fibrosis, are appealing directly for a lung donation from any family who loses a loved one -- soon.
"Essentially, Sarah has been left to die," parents Janet and Fran Murnaghan said in a statement issued early Sunday.
On Friday Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius demanded an urgent review of the way lung transplants are allocated in the U.S., particularly for children, urging Dr. John Roberts, president of the board of directors for the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, or OPTN, to take a new look at the policy. But Sebelius did not request specific action on behalf of Sarah and cited current policy that says decisions about organs for individual patients should be left to transplant doctors.
“Secretary Sebelius’ decision to not exercise her very clear authority under the law to intervene and mandate a variance that would help save Sarah’s life is devastating,” the statement from the Murnaghan family said.
“We are told her only hope is a direct donation from the public. We recognize how difficult the end of a person’s life is -- we are at that point with Sarah. And we must now ask for the single greatest favor any parent can, and that is to consider naming our child an organ recipient should someone lose the life of a loved one in the very near future.”
Anyone who would like to donate their loved ones’ lungs should designate Sarah as the lung recipient, the Murnaghan's statement asked. Transplant experts say that a directed donation is possible within the framework of lung allocation, as long as the donor organs meet existing criteria.
Sarah has been on a waiting list for lung transplants since 2011. Her parents, who live with their three other children in Newtown Square, Penn., said they learned only last week of the details of a policy that they contend discriminates against their daughter and prevents her from receiving life-saving surgery.
Under current policy, children younger than 12 are offered pediatric organs that match their size and age immediately -- and sicker children receive priority. But they are prevented from receiving adult organs until after they’ve been offered to all adults and teens on the transplant list for a specific region -- even if the young children are sicker.

“We believe that Sarah should be triaged based on the severity of her illness, not her age,” Janet Murnaghan said.
Sarah has been on supplemental oxygen at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for three months. Her parents say she may have just weeks to live unless she receives lung transplants. Family members have said that living lung lobe transplants aren't suitable for Sarah. They've received many offers from strangers who volunteered to donate part of their own lungs after hearing of the child's plight.
Nationwide, nearly 1,700 people are waiting for lung transplants and 31 are children younger than age 10, according to OPTN data.
Transplant experts say the current policy was carefully devised based on best medical evidence to ensure that the greatest number of organs go to the greatest number of patients who need them.
For patients older than 12, a lung allocation score, or LAS, is used to determine who is most urgently in need of lungs. That replaced a system in 2005 that used waiting time to allocate the organs. Children are not part of that system.
Changing the policy is intentionally difficult, said Dr. Stuart Sweet, director of the pediatric lung transplant program at Washington University in St. Louis, who helped write the guidelines.
“It’s not designed to happen at the behest of a single patient,” he told NBC News.
On Friday, Sebelius urged “transparent, deliberative” action and said that the situation should encourage all Americans to become registered organ donors.

A federal judge has intervened to give hope to a young girl who needs a lung transplant as doctors have only given her weeks to live. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius received national condemnation after she refused to get involved to help the girl.
Sarah Murnaghan has been hospitalized for three months with end-stage cystic fibrosis. She is not giving up hope. She wants to be a singer, but needs a lung transplant to live. Her parents have been with her constantly while she waits at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.This morning, Sarah’s parents asked a federal judge to intervene and order the Obama administration to alter long-standing organ-donation rules so she can get the lung transplant she desperately needs.
A report shows the judge have given them hope that she can be put on the adult list:
A big victory in federal court today for 10-year-old Sarah Murnaghan, a dying girl in need of a lung transplant.
This afternoon, a federal judge granted the Murnaghan family’s request for a temporary restraining order, telling the Secretary of Health and Human Services to cease application of the “Under 12″ rule when it comes to Sarah.
The 10-year-old Newtown Square, Pa. girl has been hospitalized at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia for three months with end-stage cystic fibrosis.
The temporary restraining order will last for 10 days. A preliminary injunction hearing is scheduled for June 14.
Earlier today, her parents filed an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction in federal court. According to a news release sent by the family, they hope to prevent the Secretary of Health and Human Services from enforcing a policy that prevents children under the age of 12 from getting a lung transplant from an adult donor.
“We will not stand by and let Sarah die and we have filed in federal court for an immediate injunction to do what Secretary Sebelius will not: give Sarah and other children in her position a fair chance at life,” said Janet Murnaghan, Sarah’s mother.

The parents of Sarah Murnaghan have asked a federal judge to intervene and order U.S. health officials to alter long-standing organ-donation rules so the 10-year-old Newtown Square girl can get the lung transplant she desperately needs.
In a complaint filed Wednesday morning in Philadelphia, lawyers for Janet and Francis Murnaghan contend that the rules discriminate against children under 12 by giving older candidates priority for donated adult lungs, regardless of their medical urgency.
The lawyers have asked for an emergency hearing and hope to persuade U.S. District Judge Michael M. Baylson to enjoin U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius from enforcing the so-called Under 12 rule.
“If Sarah does not soon receive a set of donated lungs she will die,” says the 18-page complaint, filed by a team of attorneys from Pepper Hamilton LLP.
According to the lawsuit, Sarah’s doctors have concluded she is an appropriate candidate for an adult lung transplant, and that pool of donated organs is 50 times larger than the pool of available lungs from child donors.
The lawyers contend the Under-12 rule “serves no purpose” and was crafted in 2004 when health officials had insufficient data to build a system to determine the child organ-transplant candidates with the greatest need, as it does with adults.
And they argue that “downsizing” and transplanting an adult lung into a child may once have been a medical challenge, but “that no longer is the case.”
Sebelius says she doesn’t want to intervene in the transplant case when other sick children are dying, but Sarah’s family says hey want the policy changed for all children awaiting a lung transplant, not just Sarah.
Meanwhile, members of Congress asked Sebelius during a congressional hearing about Sarah’s case:
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius rebuffed an appeal from Rep. Lou Barletta, R-Pa., on behalf of a girl who needs a lung transplant but can’t get one because of a federal regulation that prevents her from qualifying for a transplant.
“Please, suspend the rules until we look at this policy,” Rep. Lou Barletta, R-Pa., asked Sebelius during a House hearing Tuesday on behalf of Sarah Murnaghan, a 10-year-old girl who needs a lung transplant. She can’t qualify for an adult lung transplant until the age of 12, according to federal regulations, but Sebelius has the authority to waive that rule on her behalf. The pediatric lungs for which she qualifies aren’t available.
“I would suggest, sir, that, again, this is an incredibly agonizing situation where someone lives and someone dies,” Sebelius replied. “The medical evidence and the transplant doctors who are making the rule — and have had the rule in place since 2005 making a delineation between pediatric and adult lungs, because lungs are different than other organs — that it’s based on the survivability [chances].”

Amid Medicare Woes, Humana Affirms Weaker Outlook

Humana (HUM) reaffirmed its fiscal 2013 guidance on Monday, acknowledging once again that its full-year earnings could fall below Wall Street expectations despite the government's decision to increase Medicare payments.
The Louisville, Ky.-based company continues to anticipate full-year earnings for the period ending Dec. 31, 2013, in the range of $8.40 to $8.60.
That would put the EPS outlook below average analyst estimates of $8.65 a share.
The reiterated guidance, raised back in May after the company reported much stronger first-quarter earnings, comes despite the fact that the government in April reversed its decision to cut Medicare payments following intense pressure and lobbying from healthcare heavyweights.
U.S. officials two months ago decided to increase the payment rate for health insurers that offer coverage through the popular Medicare Advantage program, one of many changes attached to ongoing health reform.
The Medicare-focused insurer had been preparing for cuts to government payments for Medicare Advantage that could weigh on insurance rates and earlier this year said it was uncertain it would be able to grow earnings in 2014 due to rate questions.
While shares of Humana slumped 1% out of the bell on Monday, they remain up about 17% since the beginning of January.



Illinois Ag. Department Illegally Seizes Privately Owned Bees Resistant to GMO Poison

6Terrence Ingram, a world renowned naturalist who once saved the Bald Eagle from being on the endangered species list, was recently met by the Illinois Agricultural Department which seized his privately-owned bees. The department seized his bees that were ‘resistant to GMO pesticides’ and killed the remaining healthy queen bees in his beehives.
Ingram had been researching the effects of Roundup, the Monsanto franken-food best-selling herbicide meant to make crops more resilient to pests. Roundup itself has long list of negative effects, with the product even shown to kill human kidney cells. Much of the ill effects of Roundup are produced by the active ingredient, glyphosate.
Ingram has been raising his bees for 58 years and researching Roundup’s effects on the bees for 15+ years. “They ruined 15 years of my research,” he told Prairie Advocate, by stealing most of his stock. You can surmise, that the results of his research were not likely a glowing report on the benefits of GMO pesticides.
The Ag Department allegedly seized Ingram’s bees because they were stricken with a disease known as American foulbrood. However, Ingram said he could prove that this is simply not true, and intended to do so at a hearing in April. Unfortunately, his bees were seized in March and are MIA.
The department released this statement to Ingram:
“During a routine inspection of your honeybee colonies by … Inspectors Susan Kivikko and Eleanor Balson on October 23, 2011, the bacterial disease ‘American Foulbrood’ was detected in a number of colonies located behind your house…. Presence of the disease in some of your colonies was confirmed via test results from the USDA Bee Research Laboratory in Beltsville, Maryland that analyzed samples collected from your apiary….”
Monsanto will not be held to any legal action, not in any state in America, especially as it loses stable footing in countries like Hungary. With scientific evidence mounting every day against their faulty seeds, of course they would need to dismantle additional research which proves the long-term negative effects of their GMO crops. Ingram’s bees were ‘inspected’ without his presence and without a warrant. As government regulation of our freedom’s are increasingly suppressed, why are companies like Dow and Monsanto given free reign?

Kevin Kookogey, the founder and president of Linchpins of Liberty, said the IRS asked his group to submit the names of the young people his group mentors to the agency to get tax-exempt status.

He said the IRS asked him to identify the "political affiliation of mentors and identify issues" they were teaching. He said the IRS also asked for the names of "those whom I train" and "what I am teaching students."


Kookogey said his organization aims to "mentor high school and college students in conservative political philosophy." He said since a mission of his organization is "mentoring young people," the parents of the students were rightfully outraged upon hearing of those requests.
"Can you imagine the reactions of the parents?" Kakoogey asked.
He expressed that he was fearful that parents could potentially sue him for revealing the names of their kids or the parents could themselves be audited. But he noted that his failure to comply would result in his application being denied or subject him to perjury.
He said even though his organization does not have "Tea Party" or "Patriot" in its name, the group shares the ideas held by similar organizations of "jealously guarding ordered liberty." He implied that is why his group has been targeted for over two years. He acknowledged he had lost a $30,000 grant and thousands of his own money.

The Obama Way: Socialists In Congress & Their Attacks On IRS Victims

We begin to wonder about just what is going on in Washington, D.C. when we begin to see what has now amounted to at least 3 huge scandals with possibly more to come. However, if we take a quick step back and look at what our Congress has evolved into, we can begin to see just why it seems that a totally different ideology is emerging from the politicians in Washington, D.C. We, as a people, have to take a very deep look into the backgrounds of those running. We must also be cautious any time that they use words such as, but not limited to, “Progressive,” “Black Progressive Caucus,” “Radical Progressive,” or words which seem to indicate certain style of group being pushed to the forefront. These words are nothing more than cover for the true meaning of what the people in these groups actually represent, the Socialists/Communists/Marxists of our nation.
We can go to sites such as www.discoverthenetworks.com and find out that many of the people now serving in the United States Congress, approximately 70 of them, are quite proud of being a part of the Socialist Democratic Party. These elected representatives do not have the freedom of the people at heart. As a matter of fact, their main objective is to destroy the United States so they can turn it into a Socialist regime, run by the elite where only two classes of people are remaining and that would be the elite and the poor. If you do not believe that they have such a group or that they are so deeply involved in how our nation is run, go to their web site and check it out. It will surprise you as to just who their members are and what they really wish to do. One look at their site and you’ll learn just how they plan on taking over the United States. I am sure that if you love the Constitution and the freedoms the forefathers of this great nation sought to ensure, you will see that site for what it is: A way to enslave the poor people of the United States to do the bidding of the Socialists/Communists/and Marxists.
Why is it that we can find all these so-called Democrats listed as members of Socialist organizations, but we can’t find a single Republican on any of these lists? It’s because some big names in the Democratic Party are also big names in the Socialist Party! Yet, not a single Republican can be found on such lists. The Democratic Party at one time had made bold statements that they were the party of the average man in America. However, if we dig into the present ideology of the Democratic Party, we can find ties with groups such as the Progressive caucus which is of itself a code name for socialists.
Recently, Representative Jim McDermott criticized people who were literally attacked by the IRS. McDermott’s words should be taken with a grain of salt and then forgotten, since he is one of the members of the Socialist Democratic Party, as are several of those who made, in some cases, very close to obscene charges about the people the IRS harassed.
If we go down the list of those who are aligned with the socialistic ideology of the Socialist Party, we find that nearly everyone who had anything bad to say to those people before Congress on June 4, 2013 were either a member of the Socialist Democratic Party or very friendly towards their ideals. Here is a list of the members of the House Oversight Committee who are proud members of the Socialist Democratic Party.
Is it any wonder that some of these people actually tried to make the victims of the IRS attack look like they were the ones that should be questioned? That is the way these people work. They shift blame away from themselves and make as many others look as bad as possible. If they are really good at shifting blame, they can actually make it look like the victims were the people that started the problem in the first place. They are very good at misdirection. If you go to the Socialist Democratic Party site, and read what is there, you can see just how they do what they do and how they have plans to make what is wrong seem right and what is right seem wrong. It is all out in the open on their site and they are unashamed about it since they have one of their own in the White House.
Yes, Barack Obama has been linked to most of these groups in one way or another and his wife and many of his advisors are also aligned with these groups. It is not what they want people to read, but just take a look at the information on Barack Obama and what you will find there will blow your mind. Don’t take my word for it, look it up yourself so you will know what is going on and then you can pass it on. But just look at this one path that Obama has on this network.
While you are looking into this, go to Michelle Obama’s page and find out her connections, you may be surprised at what you find there.
If you dig deep enough, you may find the trail with all the characters mentioned, all lined up and spewing their socialist ideology out.
This is the United States, not the United Socialist States. Let us work to make sure our children’s children will be able to know just what the United States and Freedom are all about.

Common core federal education standards have been adopted in Florida circa 2011 as part of the $4 billion federal “Race To The Top” program. This program removes state and local control in education, a function that is best handled at the state and local level. This program carries a huge hidden cost once so-called federal money runs out in 2014- the state will then have to assume full responsibility for the entire cost of the program. The Liberty First Network observes these federal programs (such as the “100,000 cops” program) in the past have resulted in states having to fire officers once the money ran out. The Liberty First Network does not desire to see this repeated with our teachers. The program also involves the submission of private student data to the government, with said data having been turned over to a private company in at least nine states.
Working with other like-minded groups and associations, the Liberty First Network is preparing legislation to repeal Florida’s involvement in Common Core standards and protect the privacy of current and future students.

Common Core: Bad for Teachers, and Students

Beyond the major scandals currently plaguing Washington, D.C., grassroots conservatives have been mobilizing on an equally important, yet under-reported, controversial issue: Common Core. When Race to the Top was introduced as part of the 2009 stimulus, states were bribed with billions of dollars by President Obama and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. Contingent upon qualification for the money was the states’ adoption of the Common Core Standards (CCS), a top-down “one-size-fits-all” curriculum, thus giving the federal government a roundabout entrance into localized educational systems.
This is not unlike our current situation with the alcohol age limits; states willingly surrendered their autonomy when Washington held federal highway dollars hostage until states came into compliance with the federal 21-and-up standard. However, as CCS implementation approaches, the backlash is beginning to take shape- and fast. Five states have refused to adopt CCS and fourteen states have introduced legislation to repeal, defund, or delay Common Core.
As more light continues to shine on the negative effects of these new standards, parents and teachers alike are becoming very concerned about the lack of say and influence they will command in the classroom. This brings us to the crux of Common Core- it undermines the very essence of choice. By eliminating and controlling options for teachers and families, it will leave our nation’s classrooms for the worse.
The founders of CCS assume that every classroom and school district function in precisely the same way. Of course, it is unreasonable to think that a child in a large city classroom will learn and perform just like a student in a small rural classroom. For this reason, parents and teachers have, from time immemorial, been entrusted to work hand-in-hand to decide what is best for their students. Are we ready to remove that trust and declare that our best math teachers are the Washington bureaucrats who are responsible for a $17 trillion debt? The Common Core standards have never been tested. Anywhere. And as many politicians are discovering, the country is not ready to follow the Obamacare and implement CCS prior to finding out what is in it.
Beyond the lack of choice within the realm of curriculum, Common Core leaves parents with a particularly troubling non-decision. As it stands, the government will begin to data-mine children from kindergarten until the time they enter the workforce. This data, which attempts to determine learning patterns based on the students’ (and their family’s) religion, moral attitudes, and political affiliations, is then sold to a private company, inBloom (funded by special interests, particularly Bill Gates), and returned back to the government. No less than nine states, including New York, prohibit parents from opting-out of this creepy data collection.
Parents who believe that their children will benefit from this massive data project should be extended the invitation of participating via an opt-in. If there is enough public support for data-mining students, it should be a family decision to enroll in such a program. But to forbid parents from having their young child’s future courses pre-determined based on the patterns of other students’ attributes and behaviors is nothing short of government arrogance and overreach.
Common Core collects and stores data on five year olds under the guise of education in the same way that the Patriot Act reads personal emails under the guise of national security. It is another classic example of ‘Big Brother Knows Best’, and we are expected to sacrifice personal choice and freedom for the presumed greater good of the state.
But Common Core not only diminishes choice and freedoms for families, it reduces the ability of teachers to create and innovate to meet the needs of their students. Students should be striving to outperform one another in attempt to attend better schools and receive better jobs. Similarly, teachers, like in every other profession, should be encouraged to outperform one another because a rising tide benefits all students. However, CCS removes any instructional flexibility despite the possibility that their curriculum may not be what works best for a particular class. If teachers are not handed the freedom to distinguish themselves and find new ways to connect with their students, we might as well eliminate the Teacher of the Year awards.
As it currently stands, an unhappy teacher has the option of moving to a private school or a new district where the curriculum may be more aligned with her standards. Or he may switch to a charter school with less bureaucratic red tape and higher pay. But if all public and private schools are adopting the exact same lesson plans, regardless of how socio-economic backgrounds affect student performance, then teachers too are losing their autonomy. Common Core forces all teachers to conform their lesson plans and cater to one large standardized test.
Parents and teachers are, and should remain, the most integral part of our children’s education. Big government and their special interests have enough scandals and inefficiencies to cope with. Let’s not add education to their list of dirty laundry.
